…The ordinary behaviour of the human animal is a matter of what Spinoza calls ‘perseverance in being’, which is nothing other than the pursuit of interest, or the conservation of self. This perseverance is the law that governs some-one in so far as he knows himself. But the test of truth does not fall under this. To belong to the situation is everyone’s natural destiny, but to belong to the composition of a subject of truth concerns a particular route, a sustained break, and it is very difficult to know how this composition is to be superimposed upon or combined with the simple perseverance-of-self.
…It is now an easy matter to spell out the ethic of a truth: ‘Do all that you can to persevere in that which exceeds your perseverance. Persevere in the interruption. Seize in your being that which has seized and broken you.’
I seemed to have possibly escaped a terrible depressive event. This one was happily stopped, for the present. As it was probably going to become two on the all time list.
And in regard to Circulation, there will be some changes.
P.s. I shall reveal more in the next few days. I did have an idea for new name, but Circulation it stays.
How do we resist effectively in the face of capitalism? It seems bleak, the middle class has been hollowed out, and yet people don't organize in large numbers because they believe that the neoliberal capitalist politicians will either finally change the inherently oppressive social systems or that trickle down market economics will suddenly benefit them?
Shall come up with a reply to this shortly.
I shall be curating Circulationwithinmyskull for a short period while the current incumbent is on sabbatical.
